Big Island real estate has a new addition to the ranch market. One might call this a castle—I would call it a real (olde) style hunting and ranching manor house. I was thrilled to see it today and find out it was designed by the renowned architect Vladimir Ossipoff. His designs are a favorite of mine. One of the things I love is how he incorporates the beauty of the landscape and setting to complement the home.
This home (MLS# 247466) is priced at $4,700,000
This home was built in 1952 and is found on 584 acres of native Hawaiian rain forest and ranch lands. This is quite a different type of property to find in the Hawaiian market because of its European ‘castle’ design.
It has a walled courtyard and turret from which the view was splendid! I felt like Rapunzel as I peered out of the castle turret to see the view across Kona’s lush native forest all the way to the blue, blue sea!
I hear it’s supposed to be the only castle found on the Big Island and perhaps in the entire Hawaiian Islands.
